SR16 windage tray..
okay so in preperation for my 2.0 build i had alook at the windage tray in the 16ve oilpan.. this apparently fouls the DET rods and crank due to the extra stroke.. so im just after confirmation that i have done enough to clear them.

Standard tray:-

i took 5mm or so off each of the tray mounts.. and re tapped them i was using an angle grinder and was as accurate as i could be..

i think shaved down the actuall flaps by about 5mm just to try and make sure.. so this is how she stands:-

will this be alright? or have i caused myself problems?

you should be fine but spin the motor with the pan on 1st and listen and feel. I didn't bother with it when I was putting my motor together. I tried it and it hit so I didn't even bother installing it. I had more contact on #4 with the rod bolts touching it. 5mm less it should clear.

I have fitted one of these already with a 86mm crank,

I shaved down the mounting points and the big alumium oil channels at the back and it went in with no problem and cleared.

my friend is putting sr20ve crank rods and piston into a sr16.

Have I understood you right, that he has to use the sr20ve oilpan?
