the sr16ve fully built
Hi. for recent years a have owned vz-r and was a happy boy. sooner I took part in competitions, drag racing and etc.

Now I'm building an sr20vet gti-r, but still think about sr16ve.

Please help me plan the best setup of race all motor pump gas sr16ve (1.6 and not more due to the 1600cc class limits)and how much hp it will give?
will it beat hondas and levins?

the intake must be original, stock, not aftermarket (class limits)

Let me share my ideas
1. Forged rods (cavalier)
2. Forged 12.5 cp pistons
3. Metal head gasket
4. Shaved head - to gain 12.5-13 cr
5. Port n polish
6. kelford 184-c cams
7. bc springs and retainers
8. acl race bearings with extra oil clearance
9. n1 or gti-r intake manifold
10. good exhaust 4-1 manifold (turbofreak) + 3inch exhaust
11. fpr, ems, cai

Added
12. lightweight cam gears and pulleys
13. electric water pump
is this setup doable?

what valves to use?
will I have to enlarge the valve reliefs on the pistons for larger valves and CR ?
will it let me rev to 10k rpm? will I have to?

Didnt you said earlier that the SR16VE is not a driveable engine?

yes. it is so hard (to be compared to 2.0) to drive it in the city and on the highway, because you always have to rev it up. I think that 2.0 and more is the best daily driver. 1.6 is not enough, on example when you going somewhere with your three fat friends.

but the 1600cc class is the less expencive class. it is all motor. and I want it only for the race. my goal is to beat 4age and b16 and vaz-2112 (or vaz 2109).

OK no need to shave your head down to bump compression just get the pistons made with 13:1 or what ever you want. second if you have to use stock manifold get some one to port the n1 manifold don't use GTIR. other wise your list looks pretty good but i don't know what your HP will be.

I think its waste of money... it will be still slow 1.6 without torque. In a SR20 game, where its very easy to make it 2.0l it just make no sense to play with 1.6l engine.

Forgot about beating stupid Honda boys and make fast car - 2.0l-2.4l VE.

thought u said u need to have a stock intake manifold.... the gti-r wouldnt make it stock any more...please explain this part.... list looks good so far... wouldnt go 3" on this build thou as its still a 1.6.... i see 2.5 being adequate plus its lighter..... kelford cames on a 1600....hmmmm this would be new to do..... the n1 looks like a better deal..... with a good HA or SS tein suspension on u should be well ahead a the yota boys n honda girls.... try gettin a ported n1 intake done also..... and tune that motor to the winning circle... keep us posted on ur findings

it is a race purpose 1.6 motor.... i would build off the n1 motor, i guess try to improve on it .. the kelford cams, cut welded reshaped n1 manifold, header suited to the application, and a good ecu, good gbox ect

Since you have class limits, I would suggest you buy a sr16ve n1 motor and do some mods to it to get it to say 180whp.

That shouldn't be so hard.

Maybe, header, upgraded exhaust, pop charger, 12.5cr pistons, and if you can get a standalone to tune the 8 injectors.

Peace
