Dale,
Are you able to shed any light on how the VE heads have responded to less duration and more lift (> .5") and furthermore, with additional mods such as oversized valves and porting/polishing?

I'd be keen on a couple of sets of blanks too depending on price obviously.

Very doubtful that camshaft companies will be selling blanks, they obvious make their money on the grinds

We wont be selling the blanks sorry!

Durations are advertsied talk, its easier for most people to understand them that way.

Our lobe centres will be ground per customers application.

Quite a few guys here in Aus have tried running a big lift cam, and i only know of one that has been relatively successful (even then it wasnt pulling the numbers it did until it was switched back to an N1 spec cam).

The problem with going a big duration camshaft with high lift is your are dropping velocity right at the mouth of the port where it meets the valve. The N1 cam is proof in the pudding that a longer duration cam with not quite high lift makes the numbers on the VE head.

Its only in situations where the engine has throttles and high sustained RPM can you get away with big lift.

Right on the higher lift on a sustained high rpm motor, which is a combination of high compression, engine balance, the cams themselves and tuning. U can't slap on a cam and expect power gains. You can possibly loose and hurt the motor. But like the N1 cam more duration leaves more time for the air to build, not so high lift creates velocity. I have a custom idea for a grind but I'm going to keep that to myself till my time comes. Money is an issue and not a lot of business. But I have a build in the process that will help put me on the map in the n/a game. Slowly but surely right? Just open ur minds ppl! Stop being scuurred!

Just a bit of an update.

Billets have arrived. Working on grind in the next few weeks to get on the dyno and do some testing. We have a Dyno Dynamics in house here, and the test car has a standlone ecu which makes for good chance to tune.

Anyone still interested?
