Q45 MAF experiment on N/A VE
The N1 MAF measures the same internally as the Q45 MAF, but the resolution is less and allows for N/A use unlike the Q45 that is just too gross, even for most turbo setups. The problem is N1 MAFs are hard to find for the common John Doe and expensive to buy new, as any Nissan MAF.

Makes me want to experiment by ripping the Q45 MAF internals and transplant some N60 internals and put it to VE N/A use with a 3.5" ID intake pipe and maybe matching with a larger TB.

I mean if the SR16VE N1 has a MAF this big, surely it would help somewhere a SR20VE with 16VE or N1 cams? I know this reasoning is weak but only by experimenting will I know, unless its been done before or someone can explain why it would be a bad idea.

Thoughts please.

You can buy a SR20VE 20V MAF which is the same size as a N1 MAF. I have 2 of them. Price is $120.

I'm subscribed wanna see the results of this. Although eventually I will probably pick up a 20V Maf if its a 3.5in inlet and outlet.

What are the differences between the N1 Maf and the 20V Maf Miko?

All I know is that they are the same size with 80mm inner bore, N1 is aluminum and 20V is plastic.

Also there is a known table of values, and pin-out for the N1 as well as a plug that's easy to find (on VE / later model looms), not for the 20V.

Not so sir. The 20V plug is found on many newer Nissans example 350Z-370Z and so on. There is also a known table of values for the 20V MAF.

Fair enough, ask and ye shall find.

I wish you guys the best on your endeavor.

Personally I'd prefer to sell the item that I have for sale, keeping everyone happy.
But, hey, I know that we are all a bunch of cheapsters, and why would anyone help out a fellow enthusiast when you can spend all your time, effort, and resources for a potential unknown gain?
