230hp VE, its so easy!
so i was on the net just looking up crap as i usually do and i came across this article on how to build a 230hp VE. i never knew it was just as easy as reading this article.

VE BUILD CLICK HERE!

for those who still love their DE's here is how to build a DE up to 300hp NA!

DE BUILD CLICK HERE

kinda of cool to read it until you realize its not as easy as the article makes it seem to make that much power.

Haha ok. Well yes 230hp is not hard with those mods. Puts you right about 210whp. Which is 230 at the crank. I like how they say run forged rods if u plan to run race gas lol. And you will need a calum and an safc

Here you go:

SR20VE ENGINE
The engine can be any JDM 97-2001 2.0 liter sr20ve in good working order that has run and operated correctly in your car.

SR20VE INTAKE
We will be using a sr16ve n1 intake manifold that has runners ported approximately 1/8 of an inch in diameter (the factory n1 manifold if not ported will make no power gains), sr16ve n1 70mm throttle body, custom made 3 inch diameter piping cold air intake w/ k&n filter, and a factory sr20ve mass air meter (good to 325whp if your interested to know)

SR20VE VALVE TRAIN
Brian Crower sr20ve dual valve spring and titanium retainer kit (which incidentally also used on Vtec H22 Honda engines)

SR20VE CAMSHAFTS
You will be using sr16ve n1 camshafts, they are much more radical, for example: the sr20ve stock intake cam high lobe is rated at 10.7mm of lift and 264 degrees of duration, the same measurements to the sr16ve n1 camshaft is 12.0mm of lift and 288 degrees of duration. So, when the high lobes kick in these babies are really going to scream. You will also need Tomei cam adjustable cam gears to make sure you have them degree'd in right on the dyno.

SR20VE HEAD GASKET
Cometic 87mm

SR20VE BOTTOM END INTERNALS
We will use CP 12.5:1 forged pistons and factory connecting rods (you can opt for forged sr20ve connecting rods if you ever intend to put it on race gas and spray nitrous.)
SR20VE BOLT ON'S

SR20 turbofreak header (that can be purchased at the site at the end of the article as well as all of the other parts necessary for this build), full Unorthodox pulley system, Fidanza aluminum flywheel, ACT street/ strip clutch, VRS 3 inch exhaust with your choice of free flowing muffler.

SR20VE IGNITION
Magnacore 8.5 mm ignition wires, new distributor cap, new ignition rotor, NGK BKR6E-N spark plugs

SR20VE FUEL
Factory 333cc injectors (which will be maxing out at 230 whp) Nismo fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge. Walboro 255lph fuel pump

SR20VE ENGINE MANAGEMENT
Jim Wolf Technology or Calumsult ECU programmed for a factory sr20ve engine tune. You will also need an Apexi SAFC 2 and an AEM or Innovative wide band air/ fuel gauge. It's also a good idea to pick up a Nissan Consult to check your injector duty cycle. If you have a 95' or newer sr20ve powered car you will need and obd2 to obd1 conversion harness.

650cc injectors and twin disc setup for 300hp is just way overkill...
thats like a dream list, wonder if he actually did it

Here you go:
DE build

-Removal of the catalytic converter

-Increase ignition timing to 17 degrees at idle (93 octane gas)
**165hp SR20DE-This sr20de needs some additional parts to extract the extra horsepower.
-Unorthodox complete light weight pulley system
-Fidanza lightweight flywheel
-JWT (jim wolf technology) pressure plate with 01' Sentra SE 2.0 clutch disc
-17 degrees ignition timing
-Cold air intake
-Hotshot Generation 5 header
-No catalytic converter
-2 ½ inch free flowing mandrel bent exhaust system
**175hp SR20DE-This sr20de needs all of the bolt on components listed above and some will need to be upgraded.
-Hotshot Generation 6 upgraded header
-3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with free flowing muffler
-removal of air conditioning compressor and power steering pump
-JWT S5 camshafts
-Bored mass air flow sensor housing
-Piggy back Apexi S-AFC for fuel tuning
-Magnecore or Nology spark plug wire set
-Re-ground engine with sr20de engine grounding set
**190-200hp SR20DE-At this point you will be beginning to build your engine, starting with the cylinder head.
-Stage 3 cylinder head port and polish
-5 angle valve job with valve seat bowl blend
-back cut factory valves
-cylinder head intake and exhaust port match
-cylinder head milled .040
-02 induction intake manifold w/ Infiniti Q45 throttle body
-300zx twin turbo mass airflow sensor
-thinner metal head gasket
-JWT C1 or C2 grind camshafts
-Brian Crower or JWT upgraded valve springs and titanium retainers
-Greddy or HKS rocker arm stoppers
-259cc fuel injectors at 60psi fuel pressure (4 bar)
-ACT Extreme 4 puck clutch set
**210-215hp SR20DE-You will need to get into the bottom end of the motor.
-12-12.5.1 compression forged pistons with heavy valve reliefs
-Stage 4 port and polish on cylinder head
-Switch to lighter 4 counter weight crankshaft from newer sr20de roller motor
-JWT C3 grind camshafts
370cc fuel injectors
**225-235hp SR20DE-You will need to change cylinder heads and intake manifolds
-Sr20ve cylinder head
-Sr16ve camshafts
-MSD 6AL ignition box
**245-255hp SR20DE-A few more things.
-Sr16ve n1 camshafts or Franklin stage 4
-sr20turbofreak full race header (http://www.gspec.com/p-7534-header-20.aspx)
-upgraded dual valve springs
-titanium retainers
-300zx twin turbo thermostat
-electric water pump
-Koyo radiator with Evans coolant
-370cc injectors at 60psi fuel pressure (4 bar)
**270-280hp SR20DE
-Race gas with extremely advanced ignition timing 19-21 degrees
-13.5.1 compression pistons
-Stage 3-4 port and polished sr20ve cylinder head
--440cc injectors (4 bar for safety)
**300hp SR20DE
-Carbontech twin disc clutch
-AEM EMS/ Haltech or carb'd fuel system and Datsun distributor
-Stage 5 race ported sr20ve cylinder head
-HKS sleeved block w/ 90mm bore pistons
-Cometic 90mm head gasket
-2mm intake, 1mm exhaust stainless steel valves
-550cc injectors
**300hp+ SR20DE
-650cc+ injectors (for electronic fuel injection)
-50-55mm individual throttle bodies or Webber carbs with new intake plenum
-2mm oversize intake valves, 1mm oversize exhaust valves (titanium)
-Brian Crower 2.3 sr20de stroker crankshaft and lightweight forged rods and custom pistons
-Custom knife edged sr20de crankshaft from crankshaft specialties for going bigger than 91mm strokes
-Custom ground Franklin camshafts (full race)
-Titanium piston wrist pins
