You can put n1 cams in the sr20ve 20v. I have one and it has n1 cams.

Good Thoughts Bring Good Vibes Which Bring Good Reasoning
VE is going to be plenty of power for you. With N1s and a good tune it will almost feel like too much at first but it will be a really good car to drive. You might even dd it once in awhile.
Oh and here's another endorsement for JDM engine depot in Patterson.

This coming from a turbo guy . Strat, some of us old farts gotta watch how much we can handle these days. Turbo has corrupted many NA pilots (in a good way) and most never go back to NA again. Hell I'd be happy with 220 whp NA with a nice fat torque curve in a 2300lb B13. That would be a nice drive for me anyway. Drove my son's S13DET last nite and at 10lbs on the T25 it pulled nice with both of us in the car. Would I want one? Probably not a good idea since I'm a power junkie. I could easily enjoy 3-400whp in a turbo setup but would break a few things along the way. Not good. Probably for CleanSER the VE will be all he needs to put a big grin on his face. Almost too much? Probably not for most of us here. For some? Yeah they're out there.

No I mean for Stef. He's got his S4'ed DE and its clean and fun but swapping to an N1'ed VE will be 50-60 whp and a fat tq bump. For me that's like the baby bear's bowl of porridge but after almost 20 years in an NA DE its could feel almost too fast at first. He'll get used to it quick imo.

I recently got a 97 VE form JDM Depot. When buying a VE you should get it in person instead of just getting it shipped so that you can look under the valve cover. At the time JDM Depot had 4 VE's. The 97 that i got looked better under the valve cover than the other ones. One of the other ones was a 2001. My point is newer is not necessarily better.

I already have a brand new set of N1 cams, BC valve springs so I can rev up to 9k! I also have a SR16 water pump and intake manifold and full gasket set. I plan to rebuild this engine to like new – with a little extra thrown in.
Depending on what header you use, you won't really need to rev to 9k. My NX with N1's at +5-5 and an ASP budget header made peak hp (185) between 6.5 and 7. The s/r are nice for peace of mind.
If you are still interested in the JWT ecu and MSD switch we talked about, I still have them. Let me know.
