Open Exhaust and VVL?
I am planning to take off part of my exhaust. Take off the part after the header, specifically for drags.

Will this net me any power gains?

I will have 26" after the choke point (where secondaries join).

What is your experience guys?

Thanks

It depends on how bottle necked your exhaust was before. It's a 2 liter na motor, if unbolting the exhaust netted huge gains everyone would be running around with open headers. I wouldn't do it because your car is going to sound like butt.

Apparently you did not read what I said. The law would not allow me to run open exhaust. I just plant to do this at the track. That's why I said specifically for drags. Matter of fact I only plan to do this at the track.

I have SSAC 4-2-1 header with modified 2" secondaries which goes into 2.5" collector and goes into 3" downpipe.

Peace

well on the dyno runs i don't know why but he felt like the engine should be pulling better numbers and he just loosen the bolts of the exhaust and just left the SSAC itself and gained 7whp with just that. Got it??
