Help with Pistons?
I'm rebuilding my engine again!! and need help deciding on pistons.

I am using the following:
Complete N1 head (shaved 1mm from factory over sr16ve)
sr20 bottom end.

I had previously used sr20ve pistons but are too badly damaged to use again! I have some spare sr16ve pistons but i think will yield too high CR.
I do not have any N1 pistons.

I was thinking of just ordering sr20ve pistons again or else the 20v pistons (am i correct in saying they give 11:1 CR in an sr20ve)

16ve pistons, and run a thicker head gasket so your overall compression is 12:5:1.

stratton.

N1 head so its shaved 1mm

16ve with standard ve head would give 12.5:1 i thought

would you be willing to do custom pistons? you could always call CP and get a set made. the sr16 pistons with a n1 head will be like 15-1. n1 pistons will be around 13-14. 20v pistons might not have enough Clarence for the valves but would be 12.5-13 compression.

Thinking custom might be only way but was trying to keep costs down.

N1 pistons shaved might be an option too.
Has anyone tried 20v pistons with N1 cams for clearance or is it a theory? Your the 2nd person to say that to me today!

20V pistons with N1's have enought clearance!

CP 12.5:1 pistons the N1 head wil up the compression but there forged so should be alright with abit more comp

That would yeild high 13's near 14! No way on our **** petrol!

12.5 is the max but 12 would be ideal

the only way to know for sure is if you clay the piston your self since i dont think any one has done it.
