spin the motor to TDC and see if the marks lined up. My VE pulley was messed up and I could never set the timing because the marks wouldn't line up at all.
thermoblock spacer should not be blamed seriously. nothing to do with the hp # its something else...
something hacked into something thats regularly not there is casuing this.. but not a lil fukin gasket unless gasket is leaking causing the car to run to lean or too rich ... easy way to figure that out is by spraying carb cleaner all over thermoblock spacers with car on.. if idle moves up with the spray then theres your leak ..

the way i look at it is, if the current setup isnt working, take it back to the basics.. eliminate all the possibilities, if theres still an issue then it has to be something serious..
i have a spare 16ve pulley if his has indeed slipped..
When I get a chance, I'll get this car leak tested and everything. I don't want to take sh*t apart right now because I'm going to the convention in a few weeks and I want to make sure it's running right. Sucks working 6 days a week too.
BTW, Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll get back to you guys about this in a few weeks when I get a chance to work on it.
