all i know is i made 172 on the alfred file with damn near the same setup as raul.. but i guess if BlueRb240 already tryed it then idk..

even in that video he just posted a few pages back, the car still sounds different then all the others..

i think we gotta stop beatin around the bush an just throw all these ideas at the dyno an see what comes up..

i hope we figure it out soon

Wow, this thread grew like 4 pages overnight!

I was there, in person, at the end of the day his cams were on.
There were some issues at first but it was temporarily remedied.

Raul, if your cam activation was cutting out on you while you were in high revs on the freeway, YOU WOULD KNOW IMMEDIATELY!
It feels like your car is engine braking, it's painfully obvious.
I highly doubt the cams are not staying in high lobs after your switch points.

Miko is on to something.
I noticed at the Dyno that your muffler looked a little Vatozone, but I didn't know you were running crushed pipes!
You definitely need to hit up the Dyno and test it open header.
I only know of one VE that claimed good numbers on stock size piping, and I have my issues with that story.

I don't understand why the Thermoblocks are being blamed for the ~20 HP loss. Don't waste your time taking them off, that's not going to do it.

If it's not the Thermal blocks then what is it? Please throw out your theory?

Not sure if this was talked about, but......Are you positive that your base ign timing is correct? If the pulley is separated it could read 15* by the marks but could actually be way off.

Thermoblok spacers and that big hp loss? Reason?

If it is a stock pulley, the outer and inner pulley is seperated by rubber that gets broken down and causes the timing mark section to shift.
