problems at idle
Car idles rough like the cams or a cam is engaged. We are almost positive there not cause we engaged them one at a time. I wasnt there to help put the engine in so I dont know whats going on. I thinks its a simple swap, only 3 things to wire (brown and purple clip, and maf). This was his first ve swap but he knew what had to be done.

Car runs rich at idle and blows black smoke and is breaking up at low rpms. Once you stomp on it, it seems to do just fine. Idles rough.

Details:
SR20Ve
SR26VE n1 cams
n60 maf
calum chipped ecu

NOTE: this same engine and setup was in my friends car and worked perfectly fine. He sold the engine to this guy and this is whats going on. We didnt help him swap it though cause I guess he wanted to do it.

Any help would be great....

PS-Im not sure if he is using a diffrent MAF then what my friend had, i didnt take notice to it. BUT if he is would it do this? or would it go in limp mode and not rev past 3-4 thousand RPMs due to computer not reconizing it? Thanks to all that give input.

im using the same exact maf that he was using...Jon Doe also forgot to mention that the original owner helped me put it in the first time and it did the same thing. So i got a new engine harness that was untouched and a new bay harness and wired it back up...same problem!!!!!!!

Post how you wired the maf. Did you swap the coolant temp sensor? Test to make sure it's good.

Sry man, didnt know he helped. I wasnt around much and noone told me much about it.

Also if the MAF was wired wrong it would go into limp mode and not rev past 3-4rpms. Friend of mine with another ve had that issue before. Unless there is something i dont know about.

Nice new harness and same MAF, so we know thats not an issue. Any other ideas anyone??
