Thread: Ignition upgrade

i was doing some reading and pple argue alot when talking about upgrading the SR20 ingition system. I personally think that haves to make some diference; nd when i talk about upgrading i mean all.. MSD 6al or 7al . coils and wires . with the increased volts if theres any you will be able to run larger gapped spark plugs . so the car will burn the fuel more effeciently right ? or you can increase the fuel going into the cylinder . maybe play a little with the dist timing . I personally think that haves to make some diference like help with knocking or pinging . maybe with missfires in high rmps (8,000 + ) nd is nice to have a 2 step or 3 step to play around .what do you guys think..?

most people dont mess with msd, our stock ignitions are good till about 400-450whp.

why upgrade something it it doesnt have to.

if your shooting for more then that, most people are running standalones, and i believe they have msd like attributes.
