Thread: Need Help regrading the injector

I notice in the top picture the plastic is cracked straight through, it not just the little ears that are broke, this bit of plastic also holds the lower o-ring in place, gererally it will be ok but sometimes it can cause the lower oring to shift causing leaks.

Injector cleaning/refurbishing shops will carry replacements and you can sometimes pick them up on ebay.

if leaking... also leaking inside to the injector is it not any harmful to engine?
just now u mention the injector leaning and refurbishing shop is it to change the bottom part of the injector? i from malaysia i think so hard to get this kind of shop!!

I would definately try to get some pintle caps off some other injectors, any side feed ones should fit. It will be hard as they get quite brittle when they're old hence why they always crack. The one in the first picture would be the most concern, if its just the claw things snapped off then that should be fine.

As far as I can tell, the pintle covers are supposed to help with atomization? I don't think they are required, and I know of several people with the same issue and their cars run just fine.

I'm chalking the caps up to a cosmetic cap. How important are they really?

Also, the caps cover the metal for the oring, the cap will have no effect on keeping the oring in place.

ya lo my friends also said that cap is no used can take it off but dont know is it true or not...
