I guess I'm a little dissapointed you still have to remove the chips and reburn them if you want to change engines, but whatever.

I read someplace that the nistune can do cam activation points, but am having a tough time finding that, or it might be with that other standalone somebody's working on in conjunction with (megasquirt i think it's called) -

Lynch - would you be willing to fire me the bin for your VE and I presume I can send that to autovaghn and they'll convert it and load it for me?

What are you guys doing for your wideband, just using the stock o2 sensor or replacing it with the lc1? If you replace it, is it possible to delete the stock o2 info off the program and reset it according to your designation?

*oh snap edit* - I have my ecu tuned for an E60 not an N60 MAF...I guess they will just have to use my calum's bin for it or is that somehow illegal?

It's your bin. It's not calum's bin. You bought the ECU with the bin loaded, therefore it's yours. They will need to convert it.

You do not have to remove the chips to reprogram the board.. Jjus think u gotta unplug it.. But you would need the tool thing to doit.. But really what are the chances your going to use that sr20 ecu on a) or a KA or something..
I am on my phone now cause I lost my internet so. I can't send squat..

As far as changing mafs its as simple as a few mouse clicks..

The nistune is really very simple.

I have an interesting question to ask you regarding the rev limiter. It seems many people have been discussing back and forth as to whether or not you can delete it. My question is, if the calum VE bin deletes it, and you send them the calum ve bin to put onto the ships before sending the board to you, it stands to reason that the rev limiter would be removed in the programming of that chip with a bin that has it removed already, right?

As far as I know, every calum basic ecu comes with 8K rev limit unless you specifically requested something else from Calum. I would put a limiter in for safety, just in case you get carried away listening to your VVL tune (especially when you get your new exhaust), but that is just my opinion.
When my muffler fell off before one of the track days, my VE sounded like a monster after switchover, I loved it but at the same time, it was not possible to drive like that on the streets.

Good luck with it.

Finally got the vvl to kick in the other day - felt it in high 3rd, no other gear, so I'll be replacing the exhaust right away to facilitate the vvl to see if it kicks in other gears I just dont hear it with stock exhaust. still going nistune tho down the road
