Can you change the switch point of the cams? Change it to like 6,800 rpm and I guarantee you that you'll know if they are switching or not. Once you've found out that they are switching then move the switch point back down to 5,000 or 4,800 or what ever is best.

Why? Nistune > SAFC2

I thought time of piggyback is over? But looks like ppl still buy them even if there are much better options.

cheaper and I already have a calum basic? All I could find on here was info about the safc2 and the e-manage.

Truthfully nowhere around here was that mentioned when I searched as being a more cost effective solution.

For anyone else searching for this info, here's a link on how to install the board if you already have a calum basic:

Further edit this is the board to use for my nx:

So my question after all this is: Does anyone have the nistune bin for a typical VE so I dont blow something up, does anyone have a copy of the software to save freaking $200,
(answered questions): do I need the programmer board if I have the ecutalk cable or can I do it realtime then at that point, and does my ecutalk cable work so I dont have to repurchase that again?

Answer to 3rd question:
According to this website, the package includes software, the board, and the usb consult cable, leading me to believe there is no need for the chip burn board.

there is also a beta update of the software on ecutalk website - ECUTalk - News

it covers diesel engined nissans (lists 4 engines there, maybe others will work also)

Ok so you got the jist of what's up..

There are people who have nistune dealers license.. But the normal license will only work on 3 ecu's.. So sharing isn't really possible..

I'm not sure if the ecu talk cable works but I think it should.. If not there's always the plms cable.. I have a tune you could use.. It runs a tad rich so should be pleanty safe..

All in all I think its worth it.. Its not that pricey considering you can tune your ecu in real time.. Way better then an safc..

Also when ording the board specify you want the ve de base file or whatever
