i use any kind of brand (Exxon, Mobil1, Valvoline, Castrol, etc.) 10/40 with Lucas Oil Stabilizer on my old DE the line for the pressure gauge broke and run the engine home and no issues just new oil fix the line and lets go... On my VE the psi never drops below 20 at idle with the engine hot.

Rotella 5w40, German castrol... best oils.

If you use mobil, make sure it is the high-mileage stuff... better additive pack. 10w40 high mileage is the OLD 15w50 racing formula.

Nice a fellow local VE owner and congrats with your VE purchase. During the winter I use 5w-30 and switch it off to 10w-30 when it gets warmer. I've been using Pennzoil Platinum but I'm gonna try the new Pennzoil Ultra in my next oil change. Sometimes I add a maintenance dose of MMO to my oil change.

I'm using Mobil 1 German 0w40, car runs 29-33 psi at idle and 60-70 psi crusing on the highway. I like it cause it keeps the valve train quiet.
