FIXED! You know when you are in high school, and you ask the teacher to come over for a minute because you got a question on whatever you're working on, and you figure it out while they are on their way over to you? I called Miko to talk about the car - in the 15 minutes I waited while he got off the other line and I called back, I saw a metal nipple that wasn't connected directly below the aac/ficd - turns out the whole metal pipe that it attaches to that snakes around the engine was gone altogether, leaving just this hose off - after verifying with miko that the iacv runs off of metered air (after maf but before tb) - I went to the weld shop to weld another nipple to my makeshift WAI and hooked it up - runs nice now!!!

YAY!

I will do a writeup on how to wire in the msd 8969 the way miko does it - quite ingenious, and definatly a lot cleaner his way than hacking the harness up.

Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated! Now I gotta figure out why my power steering is puking everywhere, but hey, one giant hump down, one small one to go!

i had an issue with my power steering hose at first, u know.. the one that runs up near the passenger strut tower.. the ve mad the hose sit up higher so it was rubbing on a metal tab on the under side of my hood (ya know the tab that helps hold the insolation crap or whatever it is on)

im on my 3rd power steering hose, but this time i moved it farther down since i found out what was cauing the problems, an its been fine for months now

if its not that check to be sure the copper crush washers are there.. they do wear out tho..

Ha ha - I am now having the opposite problem. Car runs at around 2500rpm, then after a bit steaily goes down to 1200, 1100, 1000, then all of a sudden, it tanks to 500 rpm, up to 900, down to 5, up to 9, down to 5, up to 9.

Any ideas?

It is indeed plugged in - I have this white screw sticking out of it kinda far, but since it's stripped to hell, I'm worried I can't screw it in at all!

Is there room for a small pair of pliers, maybe a set of needlenose pliers? Can you use your fingers to turn it?

I turned that pig till the cows come home and it never went into the iacv any - not sure why.

I reset the ecu (unplugged the battery, put foot on brake pedal) - and it sounded much better this time, still dove up and down about 100rpm instead of 4...
