from what i understand he also added a larger throttle body. i would think that accounts for most of the gain...

why would you say that accounts for most the gains?

from my understanding, the manifold was not casted properly, so porting it smoothen out the flow and helps it flow more. just by adding a throttle body will not a main factor, if Most of the imperfections werent taken out so the more input of air could be properly utilized.

i "think" it accounts for most of the gain based on a forum member's gain with a n1 throttle body mated to a tomei adapter on the stock sr20ve intake manifold. just throwing it out there so people aren't mislead thinking the manifold work alone yielded those gains. however i have seen the misalignment on the upper and lower plenum and can't argue there will be some gains.

I think those gains are actually justifiable based ont he work to the manifold.

Im not sure ive youve ever had the chance to split a VE manifold, but the casting is good - except its generally pretty badly shifted. Porting it effectively matches the runners, flow in top end would not necessarily be higher - but rather maintain higher port velocities. Something thats probably increase volumetric efficiency that little bit more.

Something I thing I am going to do.
