Kelford 184-C Measurements
Had Time today to do the basic measurements on the cams.

I first measured the base circle of a set of sr16ve cams.

Intake

32.04mm Max
32.02mm Min
32.03mm Ave

Exhaust

32.23mm Max
32.21mm Min
32.22mm Ave

Kelford 184-C

Intake

32.07mm Max
32.05mm Min
32.06mm Ave

Exhaust

32.28mm Max
32.26mm Min
32.27mm Ave

What I can tell you is that the process of cutting these cams are sure as sh#t under control!!

So are they made in the base circle or do we stil need to shim down to drop in?

yes we degreed the new 184c's compared to the old ones and they are at a much tighter tolerance than the previous generation.

Kevin at Kelford really got their act together on this set.

Degree the cams and then you will know if you need to shim

sorry for nob Q's but what is degree cam? Okay looked it up lol...... But do we really need to degree our cams?

Okay degree is one thing but this are made on the stock base circle so we just get them and drop in?

Well im saying drop in like when BC, JWT makes cams they are drop ins you just get them lube them and drop them in no shimming needed.

The reason im asking so i now if i have to take of the head to get it shim or i can just swap them out, Because im planning on buying

184c is not for a stock motor, you won't make power stick to N1 cams

The last timeI had a look at the sizes they are straight drop in's. But like donttazmebro say these cams require a bit of compression!!

11.5 or higher is recommended for these cams. So Derm, you think you will be able to just drop the 184-C's in and just degree them for maximum output? I wonder how these cams idle.
