Only happened 4 out of 30 times. Well tonight we have liftoff. Spent the day tidying stuff up for the emissions test that I failed again for the 4th time. CO limit is 12.00, mine was 103.69. No that's not a misprint. Over 8X the standard. One of the things I did was put my ground wires back on and ground the 8969 directly to the battery. Solenoids were disconnected during the test but after the bad news I hooked them up, got some gas and ran the **** out of her. Took a while but the intake started to kick in after a few laps around the hood and low and behold the exhaust jumped in after a few more. Don't know if she was sticking before but all is well now. After having N1s in the other motor I didn't realize how loud they were until I heard the stockers kick in tonight. Nope, not as loud but she still pulls hard. Damn I love VVL..... Thanks for the help guys, now to tackle the emissions crap.

Damn dude, glad you got the VVL working by why would the CO be so high?
The only thing that runs high on mine is the NO. Im always within 10 points of failing even when i run the motor hot before i go.

During my last dyno pull with the other motor I had the chance to use both the Calum basic and the JWT ecus for comparison. The a/f ratios were around 12.5-12.8 for the Calum and 13.9-14.3 for the JWT. I had done previous emissions tests with the JWT and my highest CO readings were 20.32. This test had the Calum ecu that read so high. I'm sure other factors such as TPS voltage during acceleration and at idle had been involved as well as my MAF voltage which I need to recheck. The MAF wiring has bee unshielded since the 1st VE install and that worries me. Used brand new 300zx O2 sensor for this test so yeah I'm wondering WTF. Got my work cut out for me this time.
