ve swap cooling ????? 's
Picked up a koyo and found out the drivers side fan will bolt up. Have a slim fan for the pass side, but mounted its only @ and inch away from the header. Will the fan withstand the heat[header is wrapped]????
I think the pass fan usually comes on with the a/c. Can I wire it so that the one fan will do double duty??
Wouldn't the one fan be ample considering how much thicker the koyo is???

i ran 1 fan on my koyo with a 2871r for 3 years with no over heating problem.the fan was almost touching the turbo (the intake pipe was resting on the bottom of the fan shroud) it got one spot a little soft and discolored that part of the fan shroud but never melted it. i currently run the same rad on my ve setup and unless i am sitting idling for a while the temps never go over 178deg with one stock fan. all you need is one good fan.

one fan is a risk.. yea it might work but.. you never know what type of luck is heading your way.. you can always get 2 slim fans and put them on the front to push air threw.. reverse polarity.

In South Carolina, I'd want two fans working to keep the A/C cold and the engine happy even with that Koyo radiator. Maybe fashion up a metal heat shield that attaches to the slim fan (like the factory fan had) if you're really worried about it melting. I can't say one way or another though.

Thought about that,no good. With the p/s line running, there's not enough room....

Might try with the fan even though its close. Got to figure the wiring to get it to turn right.Hoping the wrap on the header would be better than the heat shield in comparison.

mike they will fit. I have two slim 10" fans on my ve car(puller) with a 2 row csf radiator. I also have two 10" fans on my turbo car(pusher) with the koyo radiator. My ve car does have a/c as well. I can come take a look at it if you need.

Hey Mike, took the shroud off the stocker, and got it mounted. I think it will work, just got to hope the fan is wired up right. Gonna ck it against my ser and try it that way..........Yack at me when you've got a window of time.
