VE swap..ECU/inj Q.
I've searched for this topic but the replies seem sorta vague and it seems as if there is a thin line drawn between running a stock DE ECU and a reprogrammed ECU. I'll soon be replacing my DE with the SR20VE. I want an affordable swap and don't feel like spending $450+ on an ECU upgrade. I'm wondering if the 259cc DE injectors with stock DE ECU be able to cope with the high cam profile via an activation switch (Summit # 830450 or MSD 8969) or would I have to reprogram the stock DE ECU + run VE injectors before getting an activation device? I'll be running a basic I/H/E set-up so don't want to spend on an ECU reprogram if I don't have to.. unless there IS a risk.

I ran DE injectors, DE MAF, B14 DE Dizzy and DE ECU fine with a MSD switch. Only downside to this is the rev limit will be cap at 7200 RPM.

I had no idea. So the basic gets rid of the B13 7500 rev limit and increases to ~8K and is programmed for the VE injectors? Isn't there a complete hold on orders for Calum ECU's? I've searched classifieds and it seems as if there is more demand than supply.
Ideally, I want to get an ECU when I get N1 cams. I just don't see the point in spending for an ECU then sending it back to have it reprogrammed in less than a year to compensate for N1 cams. Just need to know if there is any risk of a lean condition, etc.. with stock DE injectors.

You can get nice BIN for you setup and be fine. Much safer than stock ECU, DE injs, etc..
If Calum is busy, you can buy Nistune. Its same.

There was a thread on this,

I myself have a DE maf,ecu (g20), wai, ssac headers, and DE injectors.
Runs great to 7500rpm and the activation is a nitrous WOT+ on/off switch.
I have found that when I switched to the VE inj the car feels slower, it takes longer to reach redline. Mabey I have once again fouled plugs.

I'm running a Calum Basic on mine with a rev limit of 8200 with SR16 cams on my B13. Can't go higher than that, unless you remove the rev limiter completely. I had it like that for about 3-4 weeks. SO easy to rev the motor out, so I'd set it at SOMETHING to be safe.
