Thread: DE valves in a VE head

Just curious, since VE valves are smaller than DE valves, can DE valves be fitted in a VE head? I'm thinking it's a budget option compared to some supertech valves perhaps?

Saw this post when searching a while back. Might help answer some questions.

So there interchangeable but are they the DE size or the VE size?

I think the DE RR valves are 1mm bigger but i dont know for sure. I will look into it some more.

if u look at the size of the stems the ve has a smaller stem (well when i compared my P12 valves to sr20DET valves they did)

You have a 20V though right? Perhaps the 20V had diff valves...

I'm pretty sure the 20V does have smaller valve stems

yeah ive got a 20v and i dunno if the valves are different from the 20v to the 20ve
but i know for sure the 20v engine has smaller valve stems

I have heard through the grapevine that GTIR duel vavle springs work? Any truth behind that?
