I recently did the same thing as you, and I would suggest not even using the leveler. That might sound crazy, but in order to get it out of the top easiest it needs to be crooked.
To do this I attached the lift to the left side of the intake manifold, and to the exhaust header on the opposite side but to the outer right primary.
This will cause the motor to come out crooked with the tranny side down. This allows everything including axles to clear.
It isn't a bad idea to rip off the alternator and power steering etc, makes it even less of a hassle. Can be done with one person, but much easier with a second to help level it off after it is above the bay.
I have now gone out the top a bunch, and out the bottom a few times. On paper the bottom sounds tempting but its sucks every time I have to do it maybe it's just my luck.
Last time I almost crushed my WS2 because the front was up so high the muffler was getting crushed.
