That sounds just right. Below that you may feel car is faster but you could be losing power.

I am using calum basic with 16ve cams and have mine set at 5100rpm. When i had sr16ve ecu and greddy emanage on the 20ve, we found out on the dyno that this point made most power. Havent moved it since switching to Calum Basic.

Peace

I have mine both switching at 4600(which is like 5000 on the oem tach)
Stock ve cams,i/h/e,asp,3"vrs,calum basic.
I set it up at that point solely based on what I have read, and recommendations from other members experiences.
I really like it set up like this for my daily...It lets me rev to 4500 regularly,or let her rip to 7500 when necessary.

omg im not the only one!!!!! it pisses me off man i thought my switch was messin with me... exactly how inaccurate are the oem tachs? i remember when i had a big ricer tach in my last se-r it read differently then the one in the dash.. also may explain a few over rev's.. well not on this motor cause i been tryin to be real careful

^^yeah so you can rev to redline on the tach and you are only like 7000rpm.
You should be able to bury the tach with N1 cams!! 9000 will be pointing down, lol

well that also explains why my friend saw me shift at 8200+ rpms when im supposed to be limited to 8000

is there a thread on how to calculate the difference? maybe we could change the tach face plate to be more accurate haha
