I'll point out, the high revs aren't necessarily the problem. There is an rpm or a few rpm that the crank will resonate at, so if you hold the rpm there eventually you will do some damage. That could be 3k and 6k and 9k rpm or it might be 4.5k and 9k rpm or maybe 8k and 16k rpm. I don't know... Point is, it's not the high revs that are the problem, it's sustained duration at the resonant rpm that is the problem. And sustained rpm at the highest multiple you can reach (if it resonates at 3k, 6k and 9k then hanging out at 9k is worse than hanging out at 3k).
It would appear that 99.999% of people's driving habits just don't have them holding the engine at the resonant rpm for very long so no one seems to have an issue. I don't see why anyone here on this forum would be significantly different in their driving style as to make this a problem for them.
