Cam Gear's needed for regular sr16ve cams in a sr20ve?
Do I need cam gears if I were to run regular sr16ve(not N1's) cams in my sr20ve? If so what settings should they be set too?

I plan to run a dual 75 shot of nitrous and rev to about 8200rpm on stock springs....I am lookng for LOW 12's high 11's with luck. ANy thoughts??

btw my mods are as follows: 97 sr20ve, bpi intake w/ 3" piping, N60 maf, Calum basic ecu w/ a custom tune, sacc header w/ 2.5" dp, 3" test pipe, 3" VRS exhaust, Greddy mss to activate the cams and I am about to buy to 16ve cams and dual stage nitrous kt this weekend(not sure on the nitrous kit, so if anybody has any suggestions feel free to comment) There will be drag radials on the car too!

I am also going to run a digital oil pressure gauge, aem WB gauge, and a in cabin nitrous gauge.

Now are these regular 16ve cams? Not N1's? If so how does the power come on and also can you tell me your set-up??

thanks

yes regular sr16 cams, sr20ve with sr16 notched pistons, 3 CAI, 3 exhaust, Obx header , nismo fpr and Payu ECU. I've gotten the best dyno curve switching both cams at 4600, you will notice a bit more top end and a bit less tq on low rpms with those cams, hope that helps

so your saying i should switch over the cams at 4600rpm????

Right now with stock cams and cam gears I am switching them over at 5100rpm and there perfect. With the sr16 cams I should lower the the switch over? And I will definitely try -2.5in and -5exh and if that doesn't work i will try 5 and 5.

thanks!

Sorry to jump on this thread, but I had the same exact question. Are the cam gears really going to free up some horsepower for these cams? I just picked some up as well and was just going to throw them in, but began contemplating about getting the cam gears.
