So we can assume at altitude my power figure would be around the 210whp mark... give or take 2-3 hp.

There you go. I knew something was off.

Well you are heading in the right dirrection. So now you need to find out what went wrong.

16ve pistons, shaved and deeper pockets
slight work done on the head
FS4 springs and cams, shimmed larger clearances to reduce the duration somewhat. My engine builder measured it at the valve and on the large lobe it was getting 330deg duration.
det injectors and standalone
$120 budget 4-1 header
3" exhaust
48mm itb's

What type of WHP numbers were you hoping for?

I think with the mod list you have you were hoping for 220-225 WHP.

As you know I am not a big fan of the ITBs, so I dont think they did anything.

Can you get your hands on some real Nissan N1 cams and see what they do incomparison to the FS4 cam?

derm has 1 set of OEM N1 cams. I think he also has some kelfords. I can speak to him about us testing them on my car, but not sure if he'd be keen. He's also building a crazy itb motor right now.

My engine builder was also not fond of the FS4 valve springs. He said they are way too hard for the lift of the cams, and result in power robbing frictional losses.

So yeah, there is a lot of room for improvement.

I will ask DERM if he will loan you the cams also. Him and I have become very good friends so I will try. If I can get him to loan them to you this will be great stuff.

Thanks for the info and doing your thing.

I just sent him a IM about the cams. Lets cross our finger for a yes.

he he. Cool man. It would be interesting to see. Right now I'm thinking a custom cam grind with some touring car high lobes. Will just have to do the necessary mods for the lift. What is the max lift again that the ve head can take before there are interference issues?

Derm already agreed we can dyno with his custom header. Basically it's the same as the $1000+ snickers header.

Also, with no intake vacuum, do you think there can be a problem with crank case pressure? Like I said my car blew the one small welsh plug out of the side of the head. And my breather pipe near the back of the VC, which has a small breather filter on also gets popped out!

My big concern is how close the sr16ve car's numbers were to this! I know a few sr16ve cammed motors on this forum have touched 200whp before, but d@MN!!
