Cams question
I still drive a de, But I had a question for you ve guys I keep seeing articles about Ve cams and there is not 1 decent set other than the N1's. If the Ve is the same specs as the Honda K20 engine. Why not copy specs from a quality cam builder that makes cams for Honda K20's. I am sure there are a ton out there for that engine that has been proven. Wouldn't they have the same effect on the Ve engine?

It does not work like that.

Yes both the K20 and SR20VE are 86 x 86, but thats where it ends.

The K20 head flows better and has bigger valves

The K20 has a slightly better rod ratio, while also having a slightly taller block deck height.

not to mention one has variable valve timing as well, which complicates matters further

a K20 motor uses a roller rocker valvetrain setup which changes a lot on the cam RnD profiling.

So what is the exact problem to why cams can not be made for this engine that are better than stock N1's.

The real problem is a cam company doing masive amounts of testing. They dont see the need to because the dollar amount to do so will not be made back on the limited amount of cams sold.

as far as im concerned the real problem is the limitations of the motor

The VE motor was never designed to be a 2.0L
