Agreed.

It's interesting that you can indeed source them. Are such motors nearly always available for a ($$$$) baller price, or do they literally just pop up for sale on occassion? Even 3K seems like a lot of money when a run of the mill SR20VE is half of that amount.

Correct me if I am wrong, there is also the added complexity of making them work right due to the drive-by-wire and direct ignition systems. I'm wondering if the additional cost associated with purchasing one of those rare motors would outweigh the OEM-stock hp benefits.

Shawn B there is nothing hard about making them work.

1. Get a N1 TB and N1TB flange and mount it on the intake manifold.

2. Get a VE idle control valve and mount it to a plate that gets T into a brake booster line or drill a hole on the back of the manifold and thread in a nuple for that.

3. get rid of the coils and CAS and go to dist and wires.

Thats it and you are ready to go.

$4000US, jeez

buy a 20ve, rebuild it with higher compression, cams, headwork etc for the same price
Still, cool that you can get them new and unused!
