I got a board for my ve ecu about 2years ago, and it has been great. It was pre programed for what I had and did not have to change anything maf, dizzy etc...like the de ecu guys. It was only 130us then $60 to have a local tv/vcr shop soder the board in. It was recomended I get a chip manipulator and burner, to fine tune everything myself, but been happy with just the base tune. Im sure getting that burner and stuff would set me at least 10whp from where im at now, so for another $350, its the next thing on my list. 16bit > 8 bit

Another thing I noticed was the calum etc de 8bit ecus having problems to spin to/past 9k. I dont know why wanting to spin that far would be of any benefit unless its built to the teeth, though I have seen several threads on this. However, Ive seen Kiwi's push theirs to 9.5-10k on ve ecus, my only assumption is that the 8bit de ecu cannot process fast enough for the changes at that rpm level. Thats just my assumption, dont hold me to it

I don't know what price range you are looking for but if you are talking about 150usd you must order directly from Japan and this is without even the stock rom chips to start the car. If we are talking about daughterboard+tuned roms the price will be a lot more.
