VVL Starting to work again!
It is getting hotter outside here in FL, and with the warm weather came my VVL! All winter the VVL would not kick in, I would have to drive the car for 10 minutes or so, then turn it off and on again in order to get the VVL to engage.

Well, now it is in the 80s outside, and on a nice warm day the VVL works on the firs start, the car idles down ALOT faster etc!

It is still a mystery to me exactly what the problem is, all I can say is that when it is cold out, it just wont work! Any ideas?

SR20VE, JWT Intake w/Miko air, Calum ECU, Maxima MAF.

PS Andreas if you read this I am still alive!!! I lost my job back in July and have been on a rollercoaster ride ever since, sorry to lose touch with you!

sounds like your motor might be clogged up if has to wait to for the oil to get warm.

Take of the complete VVL selenoid housing. There is a filter in there, sometimes these things get clogged up. The filter screen screws out so be careful with it. To clean it just get a can of brake cleaner and back flush it.

If that does not work then, we will meet up and I will go over it for you.

Winter in Florida? Is there such thing? haha

And I wouldn't be taking the car to 8krpm when the engine isn't fully warned up anyway.
