8000 or so.. But it isn't just that i want it to rev safely to 8000, i want to continue making power beyond 7000... I thought i read some of the SR20VEs have weaker springs that will cause valve float and a loss of power... And you only know you will have this issue after you install cams and dyno the car, and see no power beyond 7200 or something.... Originally Posted by vqman

So here is my question:
On a standard (non-20V) SR20VE motor, do SR16VE N1 cams require stiffer springs/retainers to continue getting power beyond 7000 rpms in every instance, or is it just sometimes??

Is that only the case with certain cams? Do the N1 cams work just as good with both the "weak" and "strong" springs? While other cams need the strong springs??
I just don't want to do my cam install twice..
