I say this cause I've taken mine up to 8500 with no significant/measurable float and I've heard with N1's you can go to 9000.

I have not done any testing but I am a person who likes to play it safe. You might have one motor that was put together just right and hold together. I don't know anyone who has taken N1s with stock S&Rs to 9k. I have heard of sr16ve non N1s have valve float at 8500rpms and dropped a valved in I think 2 motors. That is why he bought my old BC S&Rs.

If your car holds together have fun but if you aren't making up there why rev that high?

The supertech springs for the VE have 2 different seat pressures. 100 and 130. The BC's are around 84 same as the Supertech H22 springs. Im picking up some ST's since they have been recommended to me by several knowledgable guys and the price is right. About 320 ish for me.

Well I thought you were saying stock springs. I have heard of many guys running just springs to 9k.

I did not know you were Na...There are guys out there they say I can rev my car to 9k and they don't even make power up there.

so what are the stock valve springs seat pressure. 130 seems like its way up there compared to BC's, but if the BC's are good for 10k rpms with that seat pressure then why go any higher with the seat pressure.

A higher seat pressure means there is more tension when the valve is closed. Which means more pressure it takes for the cam lobe to open the valve. I think there is a median at which you would actually loose some power because of this. It take more power for the cam to open the valve with a 130 seat pressure than it would with an 86 seat pressure. Am i correct. So if the bc's are good to 10k why go any better than them. You will start to cause drag in the valvetrain due to the added pressure needed to open the valve.

This is turning into a good thread if we can get some more good info in here.
