sr16ve head - 20ve bottom end
Just a quick check before this gets done i have a 16ve complete motor and a 20ve bottom end and block pre assembled. The idea is to put the 16ve head onto the 20ve bottom end, instant capacity gain BAM. Seem simple enough?

Theres no surprises doing this swap? these two vvl motors will be interchangable, I'm getting a oem vvl headgasket off greg and thats about all i will need for the head swap...??

I realise i can use the pistons and make more power ect ect but this is a budget swap im doing for a mate, not money spare for extra mods.

Anyone have anything to add? anything else i should buy?

Thanks 20 forum

im in the process of doing this, all i have to do is put the ancillaries on, it turns over fine.

AFAIK the 20VE and 16VE heads are the same except cams, so in theory it would be just like putting 16VE cams in your 20VE head

Exactly.

So I would just change the cams!

BTW, which ecu will you use to run the motor? Or will you be getting a programmed ecu?

If you use the sr16 ecu - cause it revs higher - then you may need piggyback to tune.

Did the same thing as you are doing. See my signature.

Peace

he is getting a short block so he cant really put 16ve cams in his 20ve

and he is using a bikirom ecu, that will handle anything. He is basically all good to go

people on here have been saying there is a flaw in arp studs (not long enough) i have already bought mine, and hopefully the new torque level of the new arp's will hold my head down. However studs are only needed for quite high boost really, na i would just use standard bolts

anyway i would just use standard bolts and yeah it is always good practice to use new ones. However standard ones are reusable as long as they havnt stretched too much. Forgot the values, cause i would always use new ones

i just realised when your wrote "studs" you prob were not meaning studs but rather standard bolts....sorry
