Thread: VVL Idle Unsteady. Cause?

guess knocksensors go bad everyday

check the wiring to the sensor too. i traced down this gremlin recently. the instantaneous code (even after you clear the code. as soon as you start the car back up its back on). i ran new wire direct to the ecu and and also grounded the sensor, voila problem solved.

Turns out my timing was badly out as well due to a faulty crank pulley. The timing could not be set properly as the damper in the pulley had shifted.

Got it replaced and car is revving up much better.
