On a side note, checking the fuel pump is pretty easy...supposed to have 0.7 ohms across 2 pins (2&3 iirc) although I've only confirmed a complete failure. ...

I believe BenFenner already addressed this but I was wondering what, exactly you did regarding the O2 sensor...in my experience, O2 sensors don't like their wires extended...

gomba try disconnecting the power and ground (not the RCAs) from your amp.

If you still have the original condensor, I'm guessing it's clogged with 20+ years of debris...and while your right there you might as well replace the drier.
