Sounds to me like the 240sx transmission would be your best bet, not because it will work AT ALL but because it might teach you something.
Stick with what you have now it's your best option.

Ok. Example: mazworx motor mounts are 400$.... The rear mount from an auto p10 lines up with two of the bolt holes perfect you can drill a hole for the last bolt and for mount alignment, p10 auto m...
I don't think ambient temp has any effect on the intercooler painted or not, if it's hot it's hot(meaning the intercooler will match ambient temp). As for testing the intercooler in the sun???? I h...

Welcome, start reading the turbo section and looking over other ppls build threads. I would stay away from the gtir motors as they are very old and hard to get parts for, plus it will cost you more...
I have always flat blacked my FMIC. I watch my take air temps and they are the same as my buddies car with a non painted FMIC. Plus I like my car to sleep, no one knows it's rocking a huge snail.
Sounds like you are heading in the right direction. Have you considered keeping the bore down to 88mm on a stock sleeve? The added cost of sleeving might not add enough hp to make it worth it. An 8...

Have you driven a 4.4 FD 6spd? My NA ve with bolt ons spun the tires in 1st-2nd. What is your setup? The gears go quick even with the 4.4FD, I was well into 4th gear in the 1/4 mile.
I'm not sure why you need a 94 ser trans, I swapped my 93 gear stacks into a 96 case just a few months ago when my buddy killed his 3rd gear.
Don't weld the turbo at all please...... You can make a brace to hold the flap shut or tac weld the flap to keep it closed. Don't weld it all the way it effects resale.
My car is also plagued with wheel hop, so bad I keep breaking motor mounts or motor mount bolts. I have every bolt on go fast part thats needed to stop wheel hop but no luck. Im running full ES bus...
Well I went over the entire system and found no leaks. I took the boost controller apart and it's fine, but then I figured I'd see how well the sintered brass filter on the bleeder port flowed........

If your looking for a toy this would be fun, but I wouldn't daily a car that old. As for parts the gtir engines are junk and a pita to get parts for, I've owned two. A ve or BB det will fit the gti...
I said the same thing. Lol DIY always wins.
Yep roller rocker t-stat housing works....
