And yet you seem to post like the plague sometimes, and I still wouldn't trust you. He's just trying to get in contact with the guy, you really don't need to go telling him he made a bad move buying.
SR20's arent that rare...just a heads up. Low aftermarket support makes you see less built up, but there's still a ton of these engines and their variants around.

i think you're missing the point that one fan is part of the a/c system and one fan is part of the radiator system. This will have them showing up differently both in part number and location. Ye...

Unless you've got boost or high-compression, just buy 87 oct. You don't get anything special from going any higher in rating.

As much as that's making sense in principle, im also seeing this causing problems.
Tach signal is driven from the ECU directly. You can bypass this to a wire on the distributor however if yours has stopped working.
Be clear though, the tune is gaining the hp, not the gas. Tons of people are looking at it backwards like that, it's what causes most of the misconceptions about octane.
don't assume the alt is bad, thats just throwing parts at it. Like everyone else who took more than 2secs to think about it, check your wires and do troubleshooting before assuming. There's more ...
If it were me, I'd try rewelding it. Should be thick enough for an experienced welder to fix it.
