The first thing I would do is put the old iacv and AAC back in just to rule that out. You stated that you didn't mess with the vacuum lines or piping but the iacv and AAC are part of the vacuum lin...

Sounds to me like the 240sx transmission would be your best bet, not because it will work AT ALL but because it might teach you something.
