Thread: CNP/COP conversion for OEM ECU

Engine simulator build part one. This is the control system for the simulator. I am using a 2500kv brushless motor and 12a esc. This is a much mor efficient method of motor control. Part two coming soon.

Engine simulator part two. The display system in now partially operational. Still need to work out the POT percentage scaling. But for the most part it is functional. Now to mount everything and run the distributor.

Whats the plan with the electric motor... to turn the dizzy?

Yeah. I have a gear attached to the distributor where the cam key would be. Ill be pulling the tach signal from the distributor and running it back through the arduino for the LCD display. Once all that is done I will be able to bench test my controller and test changes much quicker.

Engine simulator nearly done. I put the distributor drive on hold. But I reprogrammed the Jim Stim to reproduce the exact signal the sr20de trigger wheel produces. This is a pic of my first prototype running on the Jim Stim. Once finals are over I will adapt the nismotronic ecu and build a test stand for some coils. The controller has an official name now, "DIS-SR".

My engine simulator has already paid off. I was able to identify and error I made when printing one of the circuit boards. Just need to print out another one and build it to spec and continue testing

And I am 99% certain I just found p12 coils being used on a vehicle made in the US. I will update when I have my hands on one.

The coil looked so close, but it wasn't close enough to be worth dealing with. However, I found a coil that is worth looking more into. This coil came with a detachable boot, so I popped off a boot from a P12 coil I had and it popped right on. Only thing this coil needs is to be secured. This is by far the best fitting coil I have yet to see.
