@BenFenner it seems there's something about hal cam switches and something about upstream and downstream something he was talking about - but still changeable. Once I get the diagrams it will make more sense.

nissan 1600u
honda 1080u
nissan dizzy 3 short 1 long 360 optical crank tooth/hall type 12 tooth
honda suggestion to change caf disc. take out nissan dizzy disc, see if it's moon shaped or round in nature, and change out for AEM $33 disc which can be found in sensors/connectors on their webpage, then changeout jumpers. Will dropbox files shortly.
Also determine if the coils are rising edge or falling edge (he said likely rising edge) and change settings in ecu.

You're making this way more complicated than it needs to be.

@canx2k Good to hear AEM is open to helping with pinouts and any changes needed. If you can find the exact internal jumper(s) that need changing let me know! I have the 30-1080 box you listed above.

Unsure why the distributor needs to be modified since others on this forum have made it work without modification??

I already found spare plugs at the junkyard so making the patch shouldn't be much work. There are about 50 sentra ECU's at the local PAP here.

I have dropbox also so let me know when you get files up. I can offer what I have generated for my pinout changes although looks like we have different box's...

Cam / Crank Angle Sensor: AEM trigger disc MUST be usedDiscrepancies have been observed in the OEM cam/crank angle trigger discs between model years and/or trim levels; to avoid confusion the Series 2 EMS does not support the OEM Nissan trigger pattern. A replacement trigger disc is now included with every Nissan EMS and must be installed before attempting to start the engine. The following installation was performed on a stock Nissan S13 240SX so your installation may require more or less removal of parts, but the procedure for the CAS disc change should be identical.

That is old news and you are reinventing the wheel a bit. Only thing different is you ate taking a non Nissan specific box and mating to a Nissan. Not that difficult.
