stock ecu tuning
I have a 96 200sx se r stock ecu stock motor. If I go to a tune shop and just get a basic chip/tune or whatever it may be would there be any power increase?
Yes, there are gains with tuning even a stock motor. What you are going to pay vs what you are going to get out is up to you. Nistune or JWT make boards from what i know, not sure how much they are. If you plan on modifying the car down the road it might not be a bad investment, but you will have to pay for a new tune everytime. There is more power to be had by doing the basics over a tune at this point.

Yepper. I took my bone stock B13 to @JKTUNING and he installed a sweet NEMU ECU and tuned that sucker. Huge gains throughout the entire powerband. Huge may seem minor to some of the higher HP folks but it is a world of a different car vs the stock ECU.
