JWT S13 ECU retune?
Prolly a derp question but im new to the whole SR scene been racing hondas and mitsus for about 14 years. Im very familiar with hondata s300, kpro, ecuflash, tunerpro etc. I have a 95 infinity G20 (sr20DE) just minor bolt ons and i was gonna throw in a SAFCII and wideband to tune but my buddy says whoa whoa buy my ecu. Hes got a JWT tuned B13 ecu (blue connector) that was tuned for a NA program 8k rev, 370cc injectors etc. My question is, does JWT use a daughterboard that has a socket and thus i can swap out to a new chip or reburn the current chip in there using my burn2 (moates)? Or do they solder there chips directly to the boards?

In either case my bud only wants very cheap price for it so if they do solder or i cant retune theoretically cant i just buy a new daughterboard and start making my own chips for it?

End goal is i want to install my wideband this week and be able to tune it weather i install my sleezy piggyback or i find a way to make this ecu work for me would be great to have some help asap so i know to grab this ecu or not. Also he lives like 30mins away or id just open it myself and look in there. Thank you in advance

Ok so after a lot of research it appears that JWT scrambles there code in a way that places addresses where they shouldnt be and reads it that way. Thus i cannot reburn the JWT chip or use the JWT daughter board it needs to be replaced by a generic board or other "normal" reading one to use a fresh chip on (plms, nistune etc). The only other option is sending the ecu back in to JWT for $100 retune with a 2-6 week turn around :/. Figured id reply to my own just for the sake of future searches

No need to send them your ECU. JWT will ship you a new chip with the tune you need for $100, and place a hold on your credit card until they receive the old chip back. That will usually make for a quicker turnaround time.

^^ This. Things may have changed since I did this but they wanted a $200 deposit until you returned the old chip.

I've done it and had friends do it a few times, and they never charged a deposit, but held your credit card info just in case they didn't receive the old chips back.
