I am about to install a Haltech PS1000 PnP on to a S13 with a redtop. So there are more solutions out there than just what was mentioned above.

I'm aware of all the different engine management systems out there. I've read Ben's Engine management system comparison thread. Unfortunately the stand-alone solutions are out of my price range. NismoTronic is reasonably priced, U.S. based and appears to have excellent support/reviews and probably is the closet thing to stand-alone using a daughter board/oem ecu.

Have you looked into the new ems4 from aem? Or even the haltech sprint 500
Both are a great intro stand alone system
