the maf is in a draw through configuration with a open bov you are blowing off metered air. Also if the bov leaks at idle thats where you leak is. blowing off metered air causes bogging(rich condition).

I just replaced the BOV from an old one to a brand new greddy... air leak from BOV would that be directly related to a bad BOV or something else?>thx

Actually, for FWD SR20s if the distributor doesn't have a built-in coil then it uses the 54mm disc. If the distributor has a built-in coil then it has the 50mm style CAS disc.

the bov might just be adjusted wrong. If you maf is in line with the turbo inlet then you have a draw through configuration. If the maf is in line before the throttle body then you have a blow through setup. On a draw through its best to recirculate the bov to prevent bogging. Also if you are running things this way the bov must stay closed at idle or you will have a huge leak.

for the b14 you need the smaller disk, the b13s use the bigger 54mm disk good luck with your set up, also you can get it running with the 360-4 disk but sometimes the aem cant handle all that resolution and you wont be able to rev past 3k or so, the 24-1 replicates a honda dizzy set up. so you might wanna try your stock disk first to see if it will work before swapping it out. when you try check for timing drift ect.

I guess when in doubt pull the cas disc and measure it.

I have never changed out a CAS on my FWD installs. Done 3 cars now with DET setups on the AEM.
