would like to know what autech actually did to the maps, as it seems alot of what has been claimed they did with the engines isnt true..

the pistons are just flat top with notches for the valves, the head has been skimmed 1mm the valvetrain is no different to a highport DE, minimal if any headwork has been carried out

@ TheSam So what changes that Autech made to the engines and vehicles have been proven/justified/confirmed? Just want to know, spent many countless nights before purchasing the the current car trying to find what had been, only found lots of speculation engine wise, and that the body kit was widely sought after by a few. Bit the bullet and got it anyway.

@Cozzmo Can you clarify what you meant re the timing? When i did a baseline dyno the tuner advanced the timing slightly due to it being a bit retarded giving a horrible lump in the printout, slight advance fixed this, unsure how much advanced though.

Consult cable wise /software - recommendations?
I've come accross BlaZt Consult cables, locally made too which is a bonus. and they team up with Nissan Datascan.
blaZt - Infiniti, Nissan software scan tool, data cable, reset check engine light

Let me know what you think

As Sam says, I removed the cylinder head from my Autech engine when i fitted my IES prepped 53J head.

I found the Autech engine specs to be:

1mm head skim
Stock Valves (not sodium filled)
No port work
Flat top pistons with 1mm deep valve notches (similar to 20VE pistons)

The raised compression is due to the head skim only.

No more rumours!!
