If I still have my B14 RT ecu it would have been yours. I am going OBD1 across board. Since the conversion on P11's is a painful process, might as well go with something good.

I ran an SAFC on stock ecu on a Turbo install for years. Probably going back to using it again until JKtuning pops up with the OBDII ecu's. I really want a stepdown kit, but my state requires the ready system to pass inspection. :S

you can make your own step down harness for $50.
obdI basic board for $100ish shipped
chips for $12 shipped
obdI ecu for $40 shipped

so lets see we are talking $212ish to make your own set up and go step down. i would say that is not too bad, and would work flawlessly for you. I dont see whats so bad about it.

If god gives you lemons, make lemon aid. dont just let them rot....

i have a spare obdI pigtail for the ecu to plug into and a million obdI ecu's if your interested. It came off my old ve harness that is really hacked up now.
