I think $300 is a fare price for a basic b14/vvl ecu. Ijs.. I have one a calum and it can also be tuned.

It is... if it's tunable by the owner without the cost of software on top of that. Anything past that.............just my opinion.

Sorry to hear this change of heart and lack of patience. It is a shame.

I have a badly rusted out 205,000 mile B14 that I want an OBD II alternative for. I can do the step down but I wish to avoid it so I am waiting.

It is not the community's fault nor problem that you do not want to wait.

If you feel that way now, why did you not just get a DE to replace your current car and have zero problems? I feel bad for members but it is difficult when they put themselves in a situation that they do not enjoy when it could have been avoided or thought out more carefully.

I do not know how else to entertain you this evening....

I am seeing the opposite side and your side and playing Devil's Advocate. Nothing personal.

For a basic? No way. Real times are $400ish and are well worth it.

Basic should not be above $160 honestly ($50 ecu and $110 that calum charged for chipping).

Wayne are you not able to find a basic ecu? I thought you had one already?

No...been looking for one since before the swap. I have yet to find one obdii. And that's the reason I'm tired of waiting. I'm finding another solution this issue anyways on my own.

It's cool. The reason I went ve is because I didn't want to go backwards. There was no reason for another de other than boost and its still my daily. Boost dailys to me are issues waiting to happen. That's me...

I'm just done with this thread honestly. Lol... but thanx for the entertainment!

Ok then point the man to the right direction. And I thought calum isn't doing ecu's anymore.

OR

Real Time B13 ECU $500?
Step Down Harness $160
Tunercode + Nismotronic $154 >>> $816 Complete Hassle-Free Solution

That would be all you'll ever need to tune your B14 but you are just a hair away from the price of a standalone... Anyway, I guess I'm in...

I left out the cost of Tundercode and NismoTronic as I felt they were nice to have, but not needed to run the chipped ecu....just to keep cost down. TunerPro works to edit maps and stuff. Not quite as nice and featured as Tunercode and NismoTronic, but it does suffice.

And some people may be able to get used harnesses, or have the know-how to make one themselves, or know someone else who can.

Basic tune on a VE is all I need "for OBDII" because of emissions. But what ever.... I have my solution.

I hear ya man. I just went the route I did because it met my needs. RT or something else made for OBDII would have been sweet, but what I have suffices for me. And like I said, as far as VVL goes.....well, that's just a whole new can of worms. Just trying to throw some examples out based on my experience, and help someone out that finds themselves in a situation similar to mine.
