Please Help! Consult displayed timing
I know the consult displayed timing should match the distributor timing, but what about your regular ignition timing table.

With my ga16 stock timing is 10deg, so thats what i have my base timing at.
Its does match what is displayed in nissan datascan (but at idle, not in "timing mode"). Should i be comparing these 2 figures in "timing mode"? of course i set distributor timing in "timing mode"

What about the ignition timing table? my first few cells are 15 (as in my stock timing of 10 advanced to 15. Should my table start at 10deg? Should all of these match?

Consult displayed timing is coming from another table??

The ECU (and Consult reading) assumes that your physical base timing is set to spec (10*, apparently for your car). If you change the physical location of the distributor, it will not change the Consult reading. So, if you move the dizzy 2* to 12* BTDC, your engine will see 12*, but your Consult will still show you 10*.

I've never been clear on how the timing map works with respect to timing at idle. I will watch this thread for that info.

The timing displayed when idling comes from a "idle timing in neutral/idle timing in gear" table.

the thing is, i think i am getting some slight hesitation when taking off from a start. My timing is showing 10deg at idle and then when i take off the ecu jumps to the actual main timing map (which starts off at 15deg). Its jumping 5 deg too quick i think and should be smooter transition????
